SoftRock page (page always under construction)

In this page are enclosed informations about SoftRock V. 6.0 that I assembled and now is under test in my shack

The Soft Rock  is a low cost SDR receiver by Tony Parks (KB9YIG) that implements a simple Quadrature Sampling Detector

(QSD, see A Software Defined Radio for the Masses from QEX Jul/Aug 2002") when connected to a computer sound card and software such as PowerSDR.

These are pictures of version 6.0 I  mounted in the 2006 June:  (click to enlarge the images)

Initial mounting, the rear PCB has the SMT parts (a little attention in soldering)

Input filter is a two toroid core band-pass , the third toroid is the  mixer transformer

Final result: the three plugs are for : RF input, output to sound card, and  power supply.
